Artur Zobnin, who is a composer and violinist from St. Petersburg, will give a concert where he will not only perform the works of his colleagues - composers of the young generation, each of which reinterprets the concept of violin as a solo instrument. He will also play the Ukrainian premieres of works by the gurus of European avant garde.
Extremely challenging in terms of technique, yet weightless and ephemeral piece ‘The only line’ by Georges Aperghis, monolithic 'Über Die Linie VII' by Wolfgang Rihm, prepared violin, works using alternative notation systems, unconventional ways of sound production, rustling and silence - it all is but a small amount of things one could hear at this recital.
